Who We Are

We are a group of believers that are radically pursuing Jesus. This means that we desire to follow the example of the first church found in Acts 2:41-47. We believe that radically pursuing Jesus begins with a relationship with Him. This means coming to terms with your sin and understanding that through faith alone in the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross you can have salvation and thus a relationship with Jesus. The next Biblical step in this relationship is baptism.

Past, Present, Future . . .

Lifeway Baptist Church was orginally named BibleWay Baptist Church and was planted in September 2000 by Pastor William Cicansky and his wife Illona. For the past twenty-five years, Lifeway has been a faithful witness for Jesus in Regina and the surrounding area. The people at Lifeway are folks who love the Lord Jesus Christ and want to serve Him faithfully. Everyone at Lifeway has one desire for you -- for you come to know Jesus as your Saviour!

What We Believe

We believe and hold to the eight Baptist distinctives as laid out in the acrostic using the word “Baptists”. These include:
-
B – Biblical Authority: The Bible is the final authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16-17; John 17:17; Acts 17:11; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20–21). All teaching, doctrine, and church order must come from Scripture, not tradition or human opinion.
-
A – Autonomy of the Local Church: Each local church governs itself under Christ’s lordship (Colossians 1:18; Acts 13–14, 20:19–30; Ephesians 1:22–23). No outside hierarchy or denomination controls a Baptist congregation.
-
P – Priesthood of the Believer: Every believer has direct access to God through Jesus Christ (Hebrews 4:14–16; 1 Timothy 2:5–6; 1 Peter 2:5–10). No human mediator is needed; each Christian can pray, worship, and study Scripture personally.
-
T – Two Ordinances: Baptists observe only baptism and the Lord’s Supper as symbolic ordinances (Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Acts 2:38–43, 8:36–38; Romans 6:1–6). They are acts of obedience and remembrance, not means of salvation.
-
I – Individual Soul Liberty: Every person is free to choose what they believe before God (Romans 10:9–17, 14:1–23). Faith must be personal and voluntary—no one can be forced to believe.
-
S – Saved, Baptized Church Membership: Local church membership is made up of those who have personally trusted Christ and been baptized by immersion (Acts 2:41–42).
-
T – Two Offices: The New Testament recognizes only two offices in the church: pastor (or elder) and deacon (Philippians 1:1; Acts 6:1–7; 1 Timothy 3:1–13; Titus 1:6–9; 1 Peter 5:1–4).
-
S – Separation of Church and State: The church and government have distinct roles ordained by God (Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29–31; Romans 13:1–4). Baptists uphold freedom of religion and conscience without state control or interference.
